Applying to Sacramento State for spring 2015 question

I am applying to Sacramento State for Spring 2015. I still need to take Physio and a few misc. classes like food and nutrition, an arts course, and a english critical thinking course. What I am wondering is this: If I were to take Physio during the summer, got an A lets say, would Sac consider me over other applicants because I have completed all my pre-reqs and co-reqs? I have a 4.0 right now. I am debating whether I should take this Physio summer class at a JC an hour away because the professor is better than the one I would be taking in the fall at a closer JC. Let me know what you think!

Are you guys doing the paper and ebook bundle? I work better with actual books but the ebook bundle is so much cheaper and I'm wondering if I'll get used to the ebooks. Hmm

I'm going with e-book only and looking at purchasing a tablet. I'm worried that I'll miss having real textbooks, but I'm going to give it a try. If I feel that I really need the hard copies I will look into buying/renting used copies of the individual books I need.

The way I'm looking at it, nursing school is too important for me to experiment with different ways of learning. I've had two classes before where I used ebooks and it just didn't feel right. And I think I didn't want to read the textbooks as much. If I'm going to be studying hours on end, the last thing I want to stare at is a screen. I think all of us stare at screens enough already.

Plus, I want to keep hard copies of the textbooks. I'll place them on my bookshelf when I finish school!

My HealthStream section of CertifiedProfile is orange and said "OVERDUE" yet I had uploaded my transcript several weeks ago and it was accepted. So weird.

Does anyone know what they are looking for in terms of the varicella? I got it before the vaccine was available, so I did a titer blood test for antibodies, which came up positive. Yet my documentation was rejected. What did you guys (the ones who had the virus and not vaccine) submit?

Ahimsa_L, I had the virus rather than the vaccine as well. The first time around I just submitted a letter from my doctor stating that I had previously had chickenpox, but CertifiedProfile rejected it because it didn't list the year in which I had chickenpox. I decided to go and get the titer instead, and asked the lab if the results they were going to post online would be considered a "lab report" (because CertifiedProfile specified that you have to provide a lab report). The lab tech said that the online results are an unofficial report, and he recommended that I go to the hospital medical secretary to get an official print out of the lab report for the titer. I submitted that official report and it was accepted. Did you get an official report or was it an online report? That's the only thing I can think of that would potentially be a reason for rejection. However, the people at CertifiedProfile usually give a reason for the rejection when you click on the "+" next to the requirement, so you might get a more specific answer that way or by calling CertifiedProfile. Hope that helps!

Thanks! That helps bc I had no idea what they're looking for. I just got a printout of all my vaccines from my hospitals Immunology clinic and it just read "Varicella - POS titer" but I guess CP needs more specific info. I will visit my clinic again.

Has anyone gotten any emails? I got an email from a professor saying "Hello Section 5" so I guess that means I'm in clinical section 5 at Sutter General :). Still not registered for classes though.

How exciting!! I haven't heard anything yet.

I haven't heard anything either but i am able to access the nursing sourcepage now on SACcT but when i try and find our "Group" like the say to do it says no groups listed weird but everything seems to be slowly coming together........ My varicella was also rejected first time around more or less certified backgrounds needs a paper stating either positive negative or a number(your titer number) and also a number range for positive or negative titers so they can interpret the results.

Check the Orientation website-- our schedules have been assigned!
