Anyone goes to Concordia University Irvine?

U.S.A. California

Hi everyone, I've been trying to find a straight BSN program (no RN or LVN certification) and a lot of people are actually recommending Concordia University. I'm trying to transfer there from a community college. I have completed all the requirements such as the bios: anatomy, physio, and micro, etc. I've been in the waiting list for some time now and planning to transfer. Is there anyone who can give me an info about Concordia Univ such as the years to complete the straight BSN program, the average tuition fees, if they accept transfer credits, experiences there? I was looking at west coast univ and realized the tuition fee is just too much. Any info about Concordia would really help since I'm trying to decide which private school I want go to. Thanks a bunch!

Concordia University Irvine doesn't have a traditional BSN program. They have a second degree BSN. So you have to have a Bachelors degree before you can get in and then will graduate with a second one. Its a straight 12 month program, so kind of intense. Hope that helps.

Oh. That helped so much. I didn't know that. Is there any private school you know that offers the traditional BSN program? Something like what west coast offer but a lot cheaper? :) Thanks a bunch!

Try University of Southern Nevada. It offers a traditional BSN. They just require 64 units of prerequisites. It's offered twice a year. You just missed the fall but they are accepting the application for Spring 2011. It's only 18 months if you have most of the prerequisites done. Its 40,000 plus total tuition cost but it's fast and doesn't require A bachelors degree. They also started an accelerated BSN for people with a BS this year that's 14 mos.

Anyways.....I will be having a group interview for Concordia University Irvine in two days. Are there any people who can tell me do's and don't for the interview. And are there Graduates from this school who can tell me if the school did a good job at preparing it's students for careers.

University of Southern Nevada sounds pretty good. So if you have all the prereq finish, it'll only take you 18months to get your BSN. This doesn't require other bachelors deg. You don't need to be an RN already? you can just jump right into their BSN prog? If that's the case, is there a catch here? Please tell me if I'm getting my informations right. Thanks.

Does any ONE of you know if you have to take a TEAS test to get into the Concordia program for nursing!? I wanted to find a program in So Cal that didnt ask for a TEAS entrance exam.

Also, do you gusy think I should go for my bachelors degree in something else, then go back to school at an accelerated nursing program for maybe my masters!?

Im 23, and have a lot of classes under my belt (mostly pre reqs for nursing).

Im nervous that I wont get started soon enough for my life to get on track!

:( It kind of bumms me out. Is getting a bachelor degree a little better and then going to a masters program?

newbetonursing,

For admission purposes, TEAS test is not required for Concordia University, Irvine. You will, however, need to take TEAS test after you get accepted into the program (around 2nd week of classes).

Is the TEAS just to help them asses where you stand!? There are so many versions of the TEAS. I would hate myself if I got accepted into Concordias program, and then failed the TEAS.

The TEAS seems to be standing in my way, and its really getting me down.

Ive got good grades, and now Im going to complete my BS in Health Science by next year.

I would love to get my second degree from concordia. Just wanted to see if they looked highly on that TEAS test.

newtobenursing,
