Anyone Familar with the American Career College, LVN program?

  1. Hi,

Does anyone have any feedback on the LVN program at the private college called American Career College?

Your feedback will be greatly appreciated.

    Take care,

First question would be how expensive is it? And then, how new is the program?

Actually, I will be meeting with a representative next week.

But I did find another private college with a LVN program for $24,000 something, almost $25,000. This will include the NCLEX exam, a laptop, a PDA with a listing of the drug medications, health screenings and other supplies (scrubs, etc.)

Their LVN program is only 1 1/2 years old where their first class is on their 3rd term already.

Unfortunately, I need to take the private nursing route because I irresponsibly ruined my GPA and have several withdrawals. The only way I can qualify for any ADN program through the community college is to go through a remediation plan which I found only one in Glendale. I would need to redo my 3 science courses with a B or better through this college. This still does not guarantee a slot but my former past failures in my academics does not count against me as long as I do well through this remediation plan.

I realized that this may take me longer and no guarantees. At least with a LVN degree, I can earn more than my Patient Care Tech. job and gain experience while waiting to get into a LVN-RN bridge program.

By the way, the other college I'm looking into is Stanbridge College.

Thanks so much for your response and feedback.

I don't know where you live but Citrus College in Glendora has an LVN program. I finished in July '07, am working as a hospice nurse while I continue on with my pre-reqs for the RN program. The cost for Citrus College was about $3500 for the year and you only have to qualify by being the top 40 students in a Introductory class. There is no waiting, no requirements, no high GPA needed. I will be ready to start the RN program in 2008, which Citrus College has just started this year. Good luck,

That sounds like a perfect program for me, I wish Glendora wasn't so far away, it will be 300 miles a week just for school.
