I'm wondering how often I'll actually get to work. Also, the NM said that she would cross train me in other units so i can get "confirmed"... what does that mean? Thank you all for any information.

This sounds like you will be the internal agency for them.
I currently hold a position like that in a large Detroit health system. I can pick and choose any day/ any shift.
I don't know the current needs at your facility, ASK! "how often do you think I will be needed"? I do know that a friend is there as a traveller, so their needs must be pretty high.
Confirmed just means they have scheduled you to work.Get to know the schedulers, call them every day if you aren't getting enough work.
