So now I'm scared, there is already a shortage of nursing jobs in California, now even more influx of nurses will be looking for jobs. So maybe I need to hold on to my floor nurse position before I go and become an instructor for a for profit school. Thoughts?

Just saw on the news Bellflower medical center, and Newport Specialty Hospital. Look on Kcal 9 news website I don't remember the other two. They said Bellflower MC closed today.

Thanks for posting the info! I'm so sick to my stomach that the state is going on a rampage. Anaheim regional shut down after their fine was so huge they couldn't stay open. Granted, it's wrong to be wrong but in these times where "state insurances" such as iehp contract with doctors/medical groups just to "make themselves open to their patients whether they see them or not but not covered are ER visits" where do these patients go? The ER! The ER/hospitals suffer while medical groups get rich off these "patients" that get seen elsewhere. I see a desperate/illegal efforts by hospitals to stay open. BUT I'm sure all the fines are not illegally related. A well known hospice in the San Diego area shut down recently too with the census in the 1k because the state had a huge audit and they to we're shut down after the fine obliterated them. I'm truly sick that it could get worse before it even starts getting better.

Thanks for posting this. I'm surprised this isn't spreading to other news outlets.

Good grief!

The patients have to go somewhere, and they will need nurses wherever they end up. I know our HR has hired some of them, but they haven't gone through orientation or made it to the floor yet, so I haven't met them.

Thx orange tree, that's a relief. I guess that just mean larger census for surrounding places. Had not thought of that. Puts my mind at ease a bit.
