Re: What Lvn school do you recommend?
Try checking out Pacific College in Costa Mesa. The price may be an issue ($26,900), but most all private LVN programs are this much or higher. You'd be suprised how you can break this down though. For example, I qualified for like 10,000 in grant money, leaving 16,000 to be financed through a combination of Stafford and PLUS loans. The interst rates range from 6.25-8.5%, with the stafford loans not due until after graduation, and all federal loans have a 10 year repayment term with no prepayment penalty. Total payments on loans for this amount should be about 200-220 per month, hardly a problem once you're working. Whichever school you go with, be sure to ask about the actual number (not just percentage) of students enrolled, students who graduate, and students who pass their NCLEX exams. Also, ask about how long the average instructor has been teaching, and how long at that school (failure to retain teachers for any length of time often indicates serious problems with the program).
Hope this helps, and good luck with the school search.
