UCLA new grad RN seeks roommate!

Updated Apr 02, 2007 at 06:43 AM by sirI

I'm going to start at UCLA in the ER in July and have read sooo many threads of new grads looking for a place to live. I have researched it and everywhere close is super expensive.. My goal is to live close enough that my commute won't be horrible every day. I would definitely prefer to have a roommate and live close to Westwood vs. having to live far far away in a place by myself.

Thanks!

Hi blueherring,

Congrats on the ER position at UCLA. I went out to Cali to visit with recruiters during my spring break and really liked UCLA. I was just wondering if you're planning on taking the NCLEX before you move out and then endorsing to Cali or if you're going to apply directly to Cali and take the NCLEX after you move.

thanks,

Hey- I'm looking to move to LA to work there in June too! I haven't yet been out to visit- what have you found in terms of apartments. I might be interested in a roomie- I know it's so expensive- what have you found in terms of prices??

You can apply to CA for initial licensure, and take the exam where you are currently located before you move out to the west coast. There is no reason to wait until you are in CA to test. And you will find it much less stressful to have it done before you move to the other side of the country. So many stresses will be on you when you start to work and move to a new apt.

Best of luck to you!

(p.s. where you actually write the NCLEX exam has no bearing on the state that you are taking the exam for.)
