SoCal/Community College "lottery"

I am 54 year old male..returning to school at a local Community College, here in the East San Fernando Valley. I am attempting a 2 year degree and then my RN license I have begun to do the pre requisites to be able to "apply into the nursing program"by Summer 2009. Has anyone else..or is anyone else attempting the same??? How long did you have to wait on/in the "lottery" to get into the nursing program??? I realize that many apply to several schools at the same time....once they "qualify" for the pre-reqs for that/those schools! Just curious? My biological clock is ticking!
