I, too, attended a private LVN program in Southern California about 2.5 years ago. My program regarded 78 percent as a passing score on all quizzes and tests. We were allowed to fail a test or quiz here or there, as long as the average grade was 78 percent at the end of each level.

I am sorry you're experiencing this painful moment. Next time, you need to read all documents before you sign them. Additionally, I would contact a lawyer to get a feel for any future options that you might be able to utilize. Good luck to you.

I'm sorry to hear about your situation. I think that they should at least give you the opportunity to take your exams to see if you can raise your grade.

Can you speak to the Dean of the school? Is it indicated in your syllabus or written somewhere that you must have a certain percentage by this time? If not, definitely speak to someone above her.

She told you all of this after you signed a contract obligating you financially for the next year? You need to seek an attorney without delay. She obtained your signature under false pretenses. You need to report her actions to the BRN at the same time you are suing the school. Your attorney will probably have you sue her individually also. Good luck and get going

Most schools will take your transfer credit so you can start at another school and not have to start from the beginning.

The original poster attended a private LVN program at a trade school. Typically, these institutions of higher learning tend to issue credits that are non-transferrable to other schools.

Im in kind of the same boat ....i was asked to leave school 1 week befor therory was finished...still left all of peds to do and preceptorship. I contacted the boards...U might want to try taking ur NCLEX using method #3 thats what im going to do.....my schools passing grade was a 70% which i kept ...i got an email from someone who works for the state saying i might have to get a job in ob and peds for 3 months but that they would tell me for sure when i mail in my application...ur education is not wasted...dont believe that...just means that u got to try harder...dont give up!!

You are right Commuter. But I heard that the private school Concorde here in SD was accredited and you could go on to get the LVN to RN in the community colleges because that was one school whose credits they accepted so I thought I would mention (whereas Maric was not transferable). Just two examples.
