Not winning the lottery for RN program

by sayamk

I applied for RN program for three times already!
But not winning anything from the lottery system.
I finally got a job at a sponsor hospital and can go for the collaborative program next august.
Taking me almost three years to get into RN program.
Is this Normal???

I feel ya!! I have applied to the lottery 4 times!! I can't really apply anywhere else because I am not able to commute, so I just have to wait it out. With the lottery system you can get in right away like my friend did or you can wait 4 or 5 times. So yes unfortunately it is normal. Good luck to you

That is so true. I have 1 friend that got in on his first time applying (he was #2). Then I have one friend this was her second time applying she finally got in. Then I have another friend who got in after 3yrs. And I have another friend that still hasnt gotten in and this year will be her 3rd time applying. It's based on luck. I hope I get in when I apply next year and I hope u get in as well!

If you have the grades apply to a BSN. I got in right away but was waitlisted for a lotto system school.

Getting into nursing school is the easy part then you have to find a job as a new grad.
