Thanks for the suggestion Erdoreen. I applied to St. B's and just had my telephone interview this afternoon with Pat the nurse recruiter. The interview went well, and I was scheduled for a clinical interview with Cris, the director of the critical care units. I'm so super excited! =)

Good luck mimi! Let me know how it goes! Maybe we'll work together! Cris was out sick yesterday when I interviewed, so the ED manager interviewed me for her. I think it went well but I'll let you know...

It does, I'm still wary though because of how even with a job offer there is such instability in the market that it could change. Hope thing's are getting better for everyone!

Hi Nicki

Sorry I just got your message...I don't sign on here very often. I don't know if Hoag is having a new grad program but they would be worth looking at. I haven't worked at Hoag since Dec 2004 so I can't tell you the base rate. But I can tell you that in the past they have kept very current with the RN pay checking the market quarterly to make sure that they are staying competitive with salaries. They nuture their nurses and have funded instructors at local colleges to assist in getting more people thru school. They also have tuition reimbursement. Hope that helps. Contact their recruiter. Good luck and hang in there. You ar ein the BEST state for nursing!

I am sorry to hear that you having a terrible time landing a job. I live in Michigan and Detroit Hospitals are hiring like crazy, they also have new grad programs the pay is good and the cost of living is not as high, plus they have tons of Overtime. If moving is not an issue i would seriously consider moving yes the economy is hurting but there are pockets of opportunity and healthcare is booming in the Detroit area even for LPNs
