Hello,
my name is lisa.... i am a home care nurse.... graduated from ASN program in Connecticut in May 2003....
my 15 yr old son started taking courses at a 2 yr college when he was 13 and spent this past summer with New York Film Academy offsite at MGM studios in FL. moving to florida for the summer was difficult b/c salaries were lower than cost of living IMO.... ( i'm coming from CT where salaries are very good for nurses)
it was also difficult b/c i had no clue where i was going, my husband and best friend was dx with lung ca in March 2004 and passed away in December 2004.
i chose my apt over the phone from CT and went down blindly to discover that i hated the area we were in.... it was much further and not as nice as i expected.
sorry if i am rambling
but the bottom line is that my son is applying to USC film school and has been told that he has a very good chance of getting accepted in spite of the competition....
my problem is where to move?
where to work?
what should i expect for salaries in hospitals? in home health care?
is it possible to live in a suburban area that is easy enough to commute to USC, UCLA, Universal Studios (some of his New York Film Academy classes are there) and of course to the beach?
what can i expect to pay to live in a nice area at the beach?
what other options do i have given the locations of my sons curricular activities?
ANY advice is greatly appreciated!!!!!
we are hoping to move between Sept 06 and May 07
