Need to find a RN program without a massive waiting list.

by 25ssb

I'm a LVN here in Los Angeles and ready for the RN program, one problem, the massive waiting list. Is there any schools that have a waiting list of under a year and a half? I keep hearing 2 to 3 years to enter. Any suggestions? Thanks.....

How is your GPA? You can guarantee yourself a spot in a BSN program with a good GPA = 3.5 or better. You can retake classes to improve your grades in your nursing prerequisites.

If your GPA isn't that high than you probably have to wait a little bit. Apply to as many schools possible to increase your chances. You can also check out www.discovernursing.com and under "How" there is a section titled "nursing programs without waiting lists."

Good Luck!

If you can afford it, I believe you will find that most private programs do not require as long a wait.

Antelope Valley College is still taking students for their bridge program. If you pass you're in the next LVN-Rn program! If you live in LA the drive to Lancaster in the daytime isn't bad; against traffic. 45 mins from the Valley, I can make it from East LA in 65. It's still LA county. Good luck!!!!!!!

Thanks for the info, but I don't how long would be from Camp Pendleton. Do you have an idea?

The drive would be hideously long from Camp Pendleton about 2-3 hours depending on traffic. From what I've heard space for getting into a LVN advanced placement depends on students from the first year being flushed out so space varies depending on retention. Just apply to as many places as your eligible. At least you can work while your waiting

If you're near Camp Pendleton I'd suggest looking in Vista, Oceanside or San Diego. Good luck!
