Looking for friends in CA

I am new to this area. I have only been here 3 months. I just recently married a terrific man after years of marrying abusers. I have a 16 year old daughter and a 19 year old son here. I have another daughter who stayed behind because our experience here in CA before was horrendous. I am writting a book about my experience as a battered woman, fiction form. I am just looking for penpals. I get lonely. I have one friend that I actually interviewed with but didn't take the job. We have stayed in touch. I find that the more people you know here the easier it is to find out about jobs etc. Alot of them aren't advertised it's word of mouth. Thats not why I want friends though. As nurses we need to support each other. It's a stressful job. I also am an animal lover and I have a mini pom that I call bebe. Thanks for listening....
