Looking for Career Advice

Hey all,
I'm a 19yr old college student, currently taking the prerequisites to get into the nursing program at Pierce College. I'm also undergoing a medical proceedure that is lagging in time and may still be in a wheelchair by the end of this coming semester. Because of this its been harder to get through my classes and my goal at this moment is just to go to school to get the education for a stable well paying job, asap, although Nursing is ultimately my goal. I have been reconsidering however, taking the courses to become a medical or nursing assistant, or an lvn, thinking maybe the education process will take less time, and from there, I could work towards becoming an RN. I havent been able to find the info needed to clerify it this would take less time though online. Does anyone know? Anyone care to give me some advice? Thanks!

Most of the online RN programs are for those RNS who are already licensed as an RN and what to earn a BS or MS degree. Excelsior allows those with extensive experience (like an LPN) to take the associate. The only option available to you is to do an on campus RN program (either an associate or bachelor). CNAs have very little job mobility except to go from one to another. LPNs are also somewhat limited although their job is more interesting and higher pay. Some colleges do not give a lot of credit for LPNs going into an RN program. I wish you luck.
