license question


me and a couple of students from the nursing program just took our NCLEX on may 23rd and passed. but the other students license expires in 2010, two years from this month... but on the other hand, my license expires in august of 2009...what's going on??

Many (most?) states have you renew in the month of your birthdate, which is probably the reason for the difference. However, as Suzanne4 noted, your state BON can tell you for sure.

that happened to me as well. I have taken my NCLEX in March, 2004 and I have renewed my license in Dec 2005 because it is my birth month. Like them, I would also suggest to contact BON for clarification.

Hmmmmm... My RN license was issued March 2008 and expires end of Sept 2009. I was born in August. ???? I don't know?

okay I got the answer...the first license is issued for two birthdays... and since my birth month is July and i received my license in May it expires in August 09
