ICU training program near Los Angeles

HI everybody! Does anybody know a good CTICU or SICU training program near LA? I have applied at UCLA and they had told me that training programs open application on sept but they get hired next december (2008) and now I opted to join their resource team/float team for now. Next will be USC which they told me opens their doors on OCT but meanwhile I have to be in their CTU (step down) and from then I will be "evaluated" if my skills match the ICU needs. Last will be Cedars, I had a walk in interview with the manager and I am actually optimistic about the position but from friends I have heard a lot of "politics" that goes on and the turn-over is high. I even have to sign a contract that if they train me I have to stay at least 18 mos or pay 4K++ for the cost of training.

I am looking for a hospital that hopefully will be the one I stay in for a long time. Advancement in a specialty field is a big deal and would lay down grounds for my "icu skills" . I do hope you guys help me choose a hospital here. Any feedback from the said hospitals or others which are close in LA will be GREATLY APPRECIATED!

If you want to travel a little farther south, Long Beach Memorial has an ICU training program. At least they used to. Try there.

Little Company of Mary in Torrance has a 4 month ICU training program with classroom and clinical hours. I think it starts in August. They are hiring.
