I am a RN from Hawaii moveing to California

Hey there guys. Anyone here from another state who could tell me about the process to endorse for a State of California Registered Nurse License. I currently have my State of Hawaii Registered Nurse License and plan to move to California in about a year due to military. I want to have both licenses just in case I move back to Hawaii. I am not quite sure how endorsement works, especially the whole finger printing thing. If you guys can clarify for me that would be super duper awesome! Thank you!

I think it is better to contact the BRN by e-mail or postal mail. The people who answer the phone, if you can get through, are clerks. They don't often know the answer to your question:

hello,

I too applied for a california license and I am also from hawaii. What you do is go to the california board of nursing website, from there apply for a california license, there is a section where you click under finger printing and when you click and enter your info like your address, they will send it to you. From there, you go to a place where they are authorized to do finger printing. When you do go there, there is a fee for the process and you will be paying 2 fees because the california board of nursing wants 2 fingerprint cards. Then after it has been sealed, you must send it to the board of nursing in california & send a check another processing fee. I did my fingerprint processing at Image City it's at Restaurant Row. Give them a call to make an appt. it will only take about 30 min. You can PM me if you need more info. Hope that helps!
