Hospital Service Requirements

by maggail

Hello Fellow Nurses!

I am a fresh graduate of Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the Philippines. I intend to take the NCLEX of California. I have just one question.

Granting that I already passed my NCLEX, what is the usual minimum years of hospital service is required in most hospitals?

I really hope you could help me there.

Take care you guys and God Bless!

Not sure what you mean by "required". You can work for 6 months and move on, you can stay in one place for your entire career.

Thank you very much for your reply. What I mean is, for employment requirements, how many years of experience do most hospitals in California require?

Almost all hospitals, if not all of them, will hire new grads with no experience. They may require med surg experience before allowing you to go to a critical care unit, but new grads get hired all the time. How else are you supposed to get experience?
