Hoag Hospital

Hi everyone! I'm graduating in Dec and looking to come back to CA. I went out of state for school and can't wait to come back! Originally from LA but moving to Corona...does anyone know anything about Hoag? Is it a teaching hospital? I noticed when looking for new grad positions that Hoag comes up on every website with new grad programs in just about every unit. Also...how is the pay there? I'll be making quite a drive to work there, but it will be worth it if seasoned nurses are receptive to new grads and if the pay is a-ok! Thank you!!

Corona is a long commute to Hoag, I wouldn't recommend it. Trust me I commuted from Riverside to OC for 5yrs and thats back when there were no homes thru the canyon. Hoag is the best hospital in So. Cal as far as I am concerned. They are really pt focused. They appreciate their employees and have a real team environment. Their New Grad program is well designed and is very nuturing. They also are competitive as far as money (pay) in the community. As a Magnet hospital you know that Nursing is well represented in making thier own decisions. I worked there for 4yrs and only left because I moved out of state. I have been trying to get my husband to move back.....I miss it BIG time. Hope that helps.

Hey there. Well Hoag Hospital is wonderful. I did part of my LVN internship there. The staff was awesome, helpful, and wonderful to the patients. I looked into their program to continue on as an RN. Ultimately, I want to work there as soon as I get my RN license...but until then, they don't hire LVN's.....only PCA's & RN's....but it's definitely worth the wait. Good luck with everything!
