Golden West College Spring '09

See you in the Spring, if you get in! I'm a first semester student as of fall!

Hi,
I'm wondering if you can tell me what Golden West College Nursing Program is like in the 1st semester? Like do you have class or clinicals on the weekends? What is your schedule like? etc? Any info would be helpful. I have applied to the nursing program, but can't get much info as far as what the "real schedule" would be like so I can look into daycare for my kids. I would really appreciate any information you can give me, I can only imagine how busy you must be. Thanks!

Weeks 1-5
Monday 8-1115, 1600-1810
Tuesday 8-1115, 1300-1615
Wednesday OFF
Thursday 0800-1045, 1130-1430
Friday Similar to Thurs (0800-1430)

Week 6-16
You choose your lab day and clinical days. You choose your clinical days based on the section you register in. This semester, section 1 has clinicals on Thurs/Fri and section 2 has clinicals Sat/Sun.

Clinicals are from 0630-0100. Plan on going the night before for patient charts.

You will either have lab Mon/Tuesday from 0800-1110 (chosen the first week of school).

Monday lecture is 1400-1610
Tuesday lecture is 1300-1600

You have to get a minimum of 4hrs/week in the lab (on campus). This is done on your time (lab hours vary).
