Finishing BA and wanting to be a RN: LBCC

In December I will graduate with my BA in Child Development with 15,000 in student loans. I love children but I don't want to be a teacher. I'm in Orange County, California and I don't mind moving. I am interesting in going to California Community College. How hard is to get into LVN program at Long Beach City for example?

Depending on your undergraduate GPA, you might be better off completing your prerequisites for nursing at a CC, then applying to an EL-MSN (Entry Level Master of Science - Nursing). The programs vary in length, but are a better option as you're earning a master's degree in the process.

If you're looking at LBCC, there's EL-MSN programs at CSULB, CSUF, CSULA, and a few other campuses.

Otherwise, for a less-expensive alternative for LVN schools: look at the North Orange County-ROP program
