cost to do BSN accelerated? please help...

Hi all,

I wonder if someone can give me a ballpark figure of how much it cost to get from a BA to a BSN accelerated program? Would I qualify for financial aid at the school if I have very low income (less then 12,000 a year income). If possible, please point to me to some schools that are not too expensive (even out of state if possible). I wish to apply for the BSN accelerated program but I don't have money to pay for it. If you have gone this route please share your story.

Thanks so much again for helping.

Where are you from? The question about financial aid needs to be addressed to the financial aid department at your school.....but looking at the figure, I would say yes you would qualify....but you're going for a 2nd Bachelors and from what I remember (I wanted to go for a 2nd Bachelors before) I didn't qualify for financial aid because I already had a BA going for another Bachelors....check with the school....It all depends on which school you're going....I only know of ABSN programs in California....

1. Samuel Merritt
2. San Diego State (through Oklahoma something)

those are the only ones I know, but I know there are more.....Good Luck!

I am in Northern California...I am currently a Sac State student majoring in Liberal Studies and will finish with my BA end of this year..I am planning to apply to Sac State accelerated nursing program. I have not even done my pre-reqs for nursing yet...I want to start taking some this fall but wondering if I take those classes and dont get accepted to Sac State, will those pre reqs transfer...?Thanks for taking the time to answer...I am also considering other schools in southern cal and the bay area if necessary..

If you already have a BA/BS degree, Samuel Merritt's ABSN program is one year long and costs about $50K. It should be on there website.

They have programs in Oakland, San Mateo, San Fran and Sacramento. You would have to apply for financial aid and with 2nd degree BSN programs, the only aid they offer are private loans (credit based). You may qualify for grants, but the only way to find out is to apply (my guess).
