I just want to make sure I understand how the open house is conducted before I consider flying out of state yet AGAIN. The open house I attended at Huntington sounds exactly the same..except there were no real interviews. Basically it was like a job fair where the hiring managers were seated at tables and you could go around and talk to each one very briefly. It was hard to hear and be heard because of the noise level as well. Do you think it is worth it to come from out of state when the last open house led to no job offers? I am feeling a little exhausted and hopeless

For the Cedar Sinai recruitment open house can someone PM me the email address of the recruiter. I emailed one of the recruiters but they never got back to me to confirm my request and its almost the 18th!

The open house I went to in Feb involved was a real and my only interview with Cedars before starting. The noise level is high because you are all in the same room. However, once I started my interview, I don't remember the noise being an issue. I was so focused on trying to answer all my questions right that I think I was able to tune out all distractions.

Thank you for your input! If you would be willing to exchange e-mail addresses, I have a few more questions I would like to ask you about your experience if you have the time! For some reason, I can't PM people on my account.

You have to check the websites regularly. The nurse recruiter at Mercy San Juan told me that Mercy Methodist, Mercy General, and Mercy Folsom don't have set dates for their new grad programs and so add positions here and there. 500 people applied, 200 resumes were forwarded to managers and 24 people were interviewed for the 6-10 new grad positions at San Juan. There is a lot of competition for new grad positions, especially here in the Sacramento area. Only 10-15 of my 48 classmates have jobs lined up.

When I left the MSJ interview they told me that they expect people who aren't hired to keep their skills up by working at BloodSource, a dialysis clinic or in subacute care and to continue their education. I've never worked in healthcare but I did my 4th semester clinical rotation and my preceptorship at the hospital where I was offered a job, so I'm one of the lucky few in my class.

Best of luck to all of you.

I was wondering if someone could email me the recruitment point of contact for UCLA and Ceders-Sanai in LA. Submissions have gone to both hospitals, and just over a month ago I was told they were NOT hiring New grads. I really want to be a part of one of those teaching hospitals. 15 years military medical experience, and still a newbee??? Starting to think NO ONE reads resumes past the "Just graduated and passed My NCLEX"...

Any help is appreciated. Thanks
