california laws for pay?

going to be doing a travel assignment for 8 weeks in california. I know that the agency has their own contract with each hospital but I was wondering what the laws are in california? I know after 8 hours in a shift it is time and half but is there usually time and half after 40 hours? or I have heard double time from people as well. Any help? Also if anyone knows of any hospitals one should stay away from in sacramento or martinez?

Law in CA, if you are working for a CA employer.
If you are doing a travel assignment, and your agency is not in CA, then they are not required to meet this. It is 1 1/2 times for after 8 hours per day, and doubl time for over 12 hours.

I actually come out ahead from other travellers at my facility with 1 1/2 after 40 hours. You have to see what works better for you. My salary is higher.
