Best area to live near UCSF?

Hello to all!!

I was wondering what are the best areas to live that are close to UCSF Medical Center and good to raise two boys. I am looking for a two bedroom apartments to rent. Any information that you can give would be greatly appreciated.

Best suggestion is to look at www.rent. com and you can get specifics about the area and the costs. I would start with that, but be prepared for shell shock if you have not already been pricing things in the area.

There are also areas that are further out where you can ride the BART to work, and get apts for a cheaper and more affordable rate. The northern part of San Mateo is an easy commute to that facility. Rapid transit in this area is quite good.

Noe Valley might be a good option for you. Research rent prices at www.craigslist.org.

Unless you're prepared to pay with your first born grandchild, I would look outside the city for a place to live. Hwy 101 can be bad during the commute, but it's not too bad on 280, which takes you right to the street where UCSF is located. Look at the cities just south of SF on 280.
