Thanks!

I just called them and they said that they were regionally accredited and are still working on getting their CCNE accreditation.

I am a BSN student at this school. It is a really new program still trying to figure itself out. Tuition is about $80K for the whole program, which is 2.5 years long. They are only approved by the BRN of CA which means we will be able to sit for the NCLEX near graduation. However, AUHS only has ACICS accreditation as a school (as opposed to WASC, which is a more reputable regional accreditation), which is basically a vocational school accreditation. This means we are very limited in which schools we can transfer to. For example, if you want to pursue your MSN, you would have to apply to private schools who will take this ACICS accreditation. Azuza Pacific University is one of them I know for sure of. Public univ like UCLA or CalStates will most likely not transfer our courses. AUHS is also trying to get the CCNE accreditation and we have even met the CCNE committee and they have visited our school several times. We were told by we will get a response by April 2009.

My advice to you, is only come here as a last resort. The school is ghetto-looking, small, (even though we are supposed to move to a new building that isn't much better) and we definitely do not get what we pay for when compared to a traditional college/university. Small library, printers don't work, (the list goes on) although we are trying to get them to change things, it'll take a lot of work and time.

Thank you so much! I also thank you for being honest about it.
I'll take your advice and wait. I'm probably going to apply to Cal Baptist University and schools out here in Arizona. I just can't wait to get back to Cali though!

Anyways, sounds like you're a great student and I wish the best for you!

As a prospective nursing faculty member, I was set up for an interview, a distance interview was not available due to my northern locale of which the interviewer was aware. Since this service was not available I offered to come in person which is reimbursed by the interviewer and is proper ettiquette for any hiring entity at this level, at least in my 35 years of management/ leadership experience.
I drove a total of 1500 miles for the interview: The interviewer reneged on the travel expenses stating "he did not feel he should shoulder the cost since he suggested a distance interview"! Yes I know, just an excuse and an untruthful one! This is the very first entity who refused expenses, as a Chief Nursing officer/ administrator I have always paid my recruits expenses.

After driving this distance the person denying travel support did not have the courtesy to attend the interview, very rude behavior, poor ettiquette. These deleterious items speak volumes of the true attitude of this person and hence overshadows the university.

When administrators behave poorly it is my experience, their own interests are above those of the students, there are usually other issues motivating deleterious behavior as this. The students usually pay the price for a poorly run anarchy as this seems to be.
The prior entry of the expense of the program is of interest, I attended graduate nursing school for one half this amount and was instructed by Ph.d's usually one on one!

The staff I met were very caring and courteous even apologizing for the one person's behavior.

Again if I were a student I would avoid this institution at all costs.

Thank you for your post. I ended up getting into nursing school out here in Arizona and really enjoy it. I wish the best for you and hope that you find an institution that deserves your expertise.
