apply CA NCLEX

Hello All,

I am new to this forum. I hold a dependent visa(H4) .

Can I apply for California NCLEX with my ITIN Number? since I don't have SSN. Anybody use ITIN to apply for CA NCLEX?

please advice

You can't use yourITIN number for nothing except for IRS tax .if you do you will get in trouble by them.and you don't want to get in trouble by the IRS.

With the H-4 it is not an option. They cannot work with that visa, so they cannot get a SSN#, only the ITIN#.

You can still apply for the CA BRN for licensure, you will be able to take the exam when your credentials are approved, you will just not get a license number until you get hired and are in the immigration process.

I do not recommend using CA for initial licensure for a foreign trained nurse. Sure, you do not need the CGFNS exam, but do not need it with many other states now.................it also takes the longest to get the results of NCLEX in most cases in CA. I suggest that you check out the International Forum...There are several stickies located at the top of the page that will be helpful to you.
