Type the following in your web browser:
NY RN License by Endorsement
Just read the instructions in their Website. It will tell you whatever you need to know. Good luck!
It is funny that you are moving from Calif to New York and I am planning to move to Calif from New York. Is it possible to exchange our jobs without any interviews.

I am also moving from NY to CA. I'm currently working on endorsement, and once application is all squared away I'll start sending my resume out. The taxes and cost of living in the NYC area are out of control and having grown up in SoCal, I am returning after 9 years in NY. I am so excited, but nervous I won't be able to find a job as I only have 1 year experience; in med-surg/tele. Any advice on where to apply in the Inland Empire would be greatly appreciated!

I am just tired of being in New York City. I have been here since 1982 and it is time to see the sun set in the Pacific Ocean. Plus, I am so tired of the work in the Med/Surgical ICU or Trauma ER. I am so burnout right now!

Did you apply for a temporary license? Two weeks after I sent out my application, they printed my temp license. However, the CA-BRN stated that the FBI rejected my fingerprints due to the poor quality work done by the NY Police Department; so I have to do it again. Where did you get your fingerprint done? You mind if I ask....
Looking for work is the 1st step unless someone in Calif is willing to support you until you find work. I filled out a few online applications. Just in case I might not be able to land a job in the acute care setting, I have also called all the rehab/long term care facilities located in the Los Angeles; and I have sent out/emailed my resumes a few days ago. Hopefully, I will get something before I make a move.
By the way, at least you have one year in Med/Surg, and this is way better than many new grads. You will have a better chance...believe me.
Good luck.

No, I'm not going to apply for a temp license as I don't plan on moving for a few more months. I will be out in CA in a few weeks so I am going to do the LiveScan for fingerprints out there. Once everything is sent in I will start looking for a job. My mom who lives out there talked to an RN who works at Kaiser and she said that with a year experience I should be able to get something. I hope she's right! All I read on here is how people can't find jobs.... very scary! Good luck to you!

No 2 nurses are the same!
Some nurses can't find work because of many reasons such as unstable work history--jumping from one job to another in less than 6 months is a big red flag to some recruiters.
One year in Med/Surg is better than new regards. If you mom knows someone somewhere is a big plus for you...
