Anyone been through the Cal State LA ELMN Program??
I'm in the second year of my science prerequisites (have a BA & MFA) with my heart set on Cal State LA's ELMN program. I have a lot going for me in terms of grades, experience, volunteer work, etc, and like the way their program is designed. But they only take 20 students a year... So, I like to hear from nurses on here about the experience.
First, getting in, I understand they only take 20 students a year. Is there anyone on here who would talk about what their experience getting accepted has been like? Any tricks? Classes? Teachers? Finding jobs after graduation? and part time jobs duing school after you pass your boards.
I've been trying to get a meeting at the school, but so far, no go. So you are the best conduit I've got right now for info and feedback. How was the school expereince? Did they help you find an RN job once you got you first 15 months--did they help you find a part time RN job? while you were completeing your masters degree?
Anyone know how many apply for each opening? Or know anything they really value in a candidate? I am still trying to contact them, but they may be gone for summer.
Thanks in advance for your feedback
Pamela!
