Antelope Valley Hospital in Lancaster, CA

by kwong30

Hi everyone,

I did a brief forum search on Antelope Valley Hospital and Lancaster, CA. Is it a dangerous area with high crime? My nursing friend from Bay Area has an interview there and would like to know more about the hospital's culture and location. Any info is much appreciated. Thanks.

My mom was a patient there a couple of years ago. I don't remember it being a high crime area, but it was the dirtiest hospital I have ever seen. If Mom had been having any type of procedure, I would have insisted she be transferred. As it was, we got her out of there asap. I hope things have changed for your friend's sake.

Lancaster is a sprawling bedroom community in the high desert of Los Angeles County. Many of the people who live in Lancaster commute to downtown LA for work.

Just do a search about crime and it will give you the statistics for any city.

When some of the gangs have been moved out of LA, they moved north to there and this is very well documented. Much has been written on this very topic. There is also a link on the Philippine thread at the top for crime statistics in a certain area, would suggest that your friend use it.

Antelope Valley has more to its name than being just a bedroom community.
