an odd question

I was watching a episode of entourage where johnny drama got perscription marijuana and was wondering. if you have a perscription for pot and then test positive for it is that grounds for nonhire or termination. since it is technically legal i guess here in CA

Even if you have a prescription for it, you are not to be under the influence of any narcotic or street drug when at work. And even if on Vicodin or something like that for back pain should not be taken when working.

If someone is able to get a prescription for medical marijuana, it means that they have tried other pain meds and without relief. If someone is in that much pain, they should not be working in a facility, but should be taking care of themselves.

If you have specific questions on this, suggest that you contact the Board of Registered Nursing on this. They have specific rules that need to be followed.

marijuana is still an illegal drug on a federal level and and just because cali. allows its prescription dosn't mean it overrides fed. law, so i think it would be grounds for firing.
