Yes...only going LVN since it is part time and then I will jump in the last two semesters of the RN program once I complete my NCLEX PN. I wish they had a part time RN, but since they do not, this is the route I must take. How was the TEAS test for you? I am thinking of taking it soon to get it out of the way.

yeah, the RN program is really intense! i had no idea i'd be studying this much haha! the TEAS was a little tough. i went to Barnes and Nobel and got a teas practice test book that really really helped! you need an 81 to be considered for admission to kaplan, but they prefer a higher score. i studied for a few days and took it, got an 81.1 and was pretty crushed, studied again for a week and went back to get an 84.6! its over really general stuff, like high school stuff. if you decide to take it, good luck! they offer it at kaplan every other saturday i think, or every day of the week at SDSU. Hope this helps!

Thumbs up Re: san diego kaplan
How's everybody doing? I'm doing good. I just started at Kaplan this past september. I had all my pre-requisites finished so the only classes that I am taking is fudies 101 and nursing 100. So far it has been great. Classes are about 16 weeks in length. The program is accelerated so there is going to be a lot of reading. The program is what you put into to it. If you work hard and study hard you will get great results. The teachers have been great. Very knowledgable. The campus is set up to cater around the students. They make it a lot easier for you at these stressful times. Never be afraid to ask for help. Everyone is there to make your education a great experience. Plan and organize your life around school and you will do great. Everybody has a great chance of doing well. Remember to utilize everything around you. All your hard work and dedication will pay off at the end when you get license. Good luck to everyone pursuing a career in nursing!

You know what, in all honesty it is my very first semester. The first 2 semesters should be the easiest. If you have the patience I would go the community college route. In all honesty, kaplan was my last choice. The reason why I went to kaplan is because I did not want to wait 2-3 years. I wish I would of signed up for the waitlist years ago but that's my own fault. I decided to go to kaplan even though they had a bad rep but school is what you make of it. I know its going to get a lot tougher from here on out but it's now or never. I never heard of any nursing school being easy. You just have to weigh your options. Good luck
