Pacific College in Costa Mesa

Let me tell you what I know. First off, if I were you I'd go to Concorde in Garden Grove or Stanbridge in Irvine or Everest (sp) in Anaheim. They all offer LVN programs and while a little more expensive, you get what you pay for. Pacific is just plain unprofessional and interested in the money and not your success. I did go there but I regret it now. Pacific changes their dates all the time and leaves you hanging. Then they promise an RN program next year. They said that last year and will say it next year. There is no RN program.

My two friends were both so unhappy and disgusted. Ask the students or the staff maybe someone will be honest. Students have heard talk about other students and it is not anything anyone should be saying about their students. Miss a payment and you will hear it for yourself.

My friends dropped out and they cannot get their Financial Aid returned and it is their fault. I am disgusted at this place and ashamed that I ever recommended this school to my dear friends. Another of their classmates is suing the school. Why?

Ask some of the students if they can use a microwave in the student lounge or get a sandwich or something to eat in the evening. Ask if they can heat something up? It's not allowed. Why?

There are some teachers there that do care but are helpless to change things. I have heard that from them. Other people that work there just do not care at all. Those that do just throw their hands up and give up. I wish you luck and Nursing is wonderful but try another school.

Sorry the credits from any accredited LVN Program transfer to any other accredited program. You have to have the pre reqs done before applying to any RN program. Try the schools I mentioned. Compare the classrooms, ask about the clinics and the qualifications of the Instructors. Ask about the completion rates. Not just the NCLEX pass rate. You end up having to take the pre reqs at a community college anyway as Pacific College does not offer them though they tell you they may have them "Next year".

I (unfortunately) started this school with two of my friends. We had read some of the positive input on this site and felt comfortable starting at Pacific, even though the facilities labs were some of the worst we had seen. We had also visited Stanbridge and Concorde. Since Pacific was less expensive, we decided on going there.
Boy, what a mistake!
Within days, we realized that, if we were going to learn anything, it would be up to us to read our books and study outside of class. There was very little lecture, the teacher acted as though we were just "taking up her time". The labs were not clean and neat and there was really no one there that seemed to care about the students, other than how much money they owed. Anyway, we left (ALL THREE OF US) within three weeks and went to another college. We are much happier now and feel that we are truly appreciated. The training is great, the college that we are now attending is clean and the labs are wonderful.
PLEASE DON'T MAKE THE MISTAKE OF GOING TO THAT COLLEGE! WE DID AND REGRET IT!

We did look at Concorde and felt pretty good about it. We ended up going to American Career College because of the hours. It's a longer drive than Pacific College, but well worth it. I'm afraid I cannot say many positive things about Pacific College. We were soooooo disappointed.

I have to add that I used to have great respect for this school. Unfortunately, one of my friends just went there and didn't have a very good experience. He left after two months because he felt like he wasn't getting out of it what he was putting in. I was surprised that his experience was so bad because he is a good student. I went to Goldenwest with him and he did really well. I guess that the school must be going through some changes because it was fine when I went. I felt bad because I recommended it to him.
