East Los Angeles College

Hi all,

I received a letter from east los angeles college today stating that i've met the first part of the selection process and its telling me to go take the TEAS test before the final selection can be made.

Does it mean a seat has been reserved for me and once I completed and passed the test I will be starting the program or passing the test only gets me into the lottery system, even passing the TEAS test wont guarantee that I will be get picked for 100%.

Does anyone know how ELAC's nursing program actually works? please advice. ^__^ Thanks.

ELAC's nursing department is excellent. Call the secretary and ask her your question. Do well on the TEAS and you'll get in. It's a great program. I am a proud ELAC grad!!!!!!!!! Good Luck!

Default East Los Angeles College
Hello everyone!
is there anyone that's currently in ELAC nursing program that would like to give some insite to the nursing program?
that would be awesome to hear about the classes, the faculty, and of course the program it self.

any thoughts or concerns would be good!

hope to hear from you

not a current student but I am a 2006 grad. East LA has amazing teachers and a very supportive director who is pretty much on top of everything and doesn't let her students sink. Every instuctor will provide extra tutoring or do whatever they need to to help you pass. It is a good program, tough to get into and they expect you to study, no skating here. It's all the same faculty so good luck!!!

thanks dijaqrn!
I have spoke to ms gaines and she's really nice.
I was hesitant in terms of the passing rates on nclex brn scores I found online. Are the 68 percent passing in the 1 st try
a reflection of the school? Or is it the student that's preparing for the exam.
I just want to be sure what I'm getting into

Look at the prior passing rates... just a bad class I think. The board audited the program in 2006. If you're a serious student you'll pass. Good luck.diane
