Please help, dissertation question

by kw1406

Hello everyone,

I'm a UK undergraduate nursing student, trying to start my dissertation . I really want to do something relating to burns injuries!!!
My first idea was to do with comparison between different formulae- calculations but my supervisor turned it down as it was not nursing enough . I'm looking for a new topic but I just don't know what to do as I do not have my experience in burns nursing.
Could anyone please give me some idea for an evidence based project? And what is the current hot topic in burns nursing? Thank you very much,

Caroline

Hi Caroline, how about looking at the evidence behind the different burns dressing that are used. I know when I worked burns we only used paratoulle and gamgee, but were aware that there were other things out there.

Why not find out what your centre uses and look at alternatives as a comparrison, you could also contact some of the other regional burns units in the UK to see what they use and why.

Alternatively how about infection control within the burns units
