Count policy in the OR

by emmbit

Hi there from a wet and cold damp wintery New Zealand. I am new to, and work in the Burns Operating Room at Middlemore Hospital, Auckland NZ. I have been given joint custody of establishing what other hospitals, institututes etc have as a count policy within the Burns OR.Currently we only count sharps, on the basis there are no cavities when debriding etc. Is anyone able to advise what the policy is on counts where ever you may be working...Any early response would be appreciated, in order that my investigations may be presented in a timely manner.
