Mesa uniform color

Does anyone know what color uniforms are required for Mesa Community College? Can you have a cardigan any color or do you have to have a certain color, type etc.? Trying to get as much as I can before all the rest hits. Alot of stuff to buy that is not included in tutition. Also, what is an I-clicker? Never heard of that. Thanks for any help.

You need to wait and get the uniform information from MCC. They will give you the information for the specific place they want you to buy from. They contract with the vendor, who provides the uniforms with the MCCD Nursing Program logo embroidered them. There should be a couple of choices for style, but probably will not be just any style you want. Same for the warm up jacket. Count on a caribbean blue uniform and white warm up. That is the current uniform. But, there is no guarantee that will not change, so don't buy ahead. You can go ahead and price out uniforms online to get an idea on how much money to plan for and set aside. The good news is caribbean blue looks good on everyone, and NO WHITE PANTS (yay)!

You should be safe buying some comfortable white shoes. If you buy clogs, make sure they have no holes on top and have a heel strap. Go ahead and wear them around the house a bit to ensure they are comfy before school starts. No need to buy super expensive "nursing" shoes though. I wear white leather Sketchers Straightaways...no laces to worry about, super comfy, about $50. I go through one pair a year, but keep two pair at a time, and rotate them so they have plenty of time to air out between wearings.

I know you are excited and anxious, but just wait for them to provide you with the uniform information.

Wonderful! Thank you so much for your reply. I will look for those shoes, not a lot of choices here in Casa Grande, so guess the mall up in Chandler would be a good start; and the price is right. Also will save me from buying a cardigan if we will only be able to wear the warm ups. I had assumed I had another year to wait, so was not preparing much for starting this soon. My big thing was getting the taxes on the house paid. So here it is finally and I'm running crazy trying to get everything done and the homefront set up so my husband can just step in and take over. Poor guy. Thanks again, your reply helped so much.

I only got a brief summary of shedule in my packet, looks like all days, and maybe nothing on friday or the weekend. Will find out more on Jan 12th which is orientation. I was placed in the 2 year traditional. Summers off, school breaks etc. About all I know right now. I applied in Aug 2008 and was accepted into the spring 2010 class. Alot of people have dropped for one reason or another according to a staff member at school. So I got moved up, wasn't expecting anything till next Aug or even later. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

Another frugal option in uniforms.... At MCC they raise money for the student nurse's association by having students donate used uniforms and then they resell them for $5 each piece. I personally have bought a few sets over the last few blocks and my warm up jacket too. Most items are in great shape, and my jacket looks like its never been worn! I would check there in May/June when students are graduating or leaving for the summer. That seems to be the best selection. Just go to the nursing dept and (politely) ask the secretary. Also bring cash.
The vendor is in Tempe, Apparel Pro, I believe. They run about $30 a set, and the warm up jacket is about $30 as well.
