Question about UALR - Page 3
Register Today!- Jan 5, '10 by maxamillionYou should learn how to do a proper bed bath. If you have any aspirations of working in the ICU, you should know how to do your own baths. Patients will have multiple drains and tubes that can be pulled out. Some may even decline if you touch them wrong. Critical patients should be bathed by the RN.

- Jan 6, '10 by booklovinrnDuring clinicals it just really depends on the type floor you are on and how the techs are there. On some floors the techs want you to do all their vitals and baths etc and on others they don't. The instructors want you to do at least a bath or two but other than that don't really notice if you are doing a lot as long as you are keeping busy looking for opportunities to do and observe skills.
- Jan 6, '10 by cootvonthanks! my application went out this week! still contemplating applying to ualr as well.
- Jan 6, '10 by maxamillionFor those that want a BSN, why not go to a 2year program and then finish up the BSN online? That way you can work as an RN while getting your BSN. The online BSN program at most schools don't require clinicals. Some don't even make you take exams, just quizzes.
- Jan 6, '10 by cootvoni already have a BS and MS, so BSN at UAMS is 2 years.. RN at UALR at the fastest is ~16 months. not sure the 8 months difference is worth having to do another 1 year of online work for a bsn. still trying to decide that though!
- Mar 9, '10 by ag.wadeI am starting the UALR ASN program May 2010. If anyone else is starting, please email me at: ag.wade (at) gmail (dot) com
I'd like to start connecting with some students to make this journey through nursing school interesting!
Thanks!
