What's the outlook for FNPs like in Arkansas?

  1. 0 I'm just curious. I've read some different articles comparing and contrasting the use and efficacy of midlevel providers and physicians in their respective specialties. Lately, I've encountered more and more of them via advertising, phone books, signs, etc. When I took my police physical an FNP was the one doing it although that was a few years ago.

In general, FNPs in this area are used more in the rural settings. You do see them in the physician office setting also, but job postings are for APNs and some of these positions are filled by Clinical Nurse Specialists. So far, the colleges are not putting out so many MSN level nurses that the positions are scarce; I see plenty of job openings in my area.
