UALR RN Program Applicant 2015

U.S.A. Arkansas

I just wanted to see who else will be applying for this year? I'm already excited to start classes next week for the last of my pre reqs. I just finished 12.5 years in the Air Force so I have 60 hours of college completed before joining. If anyone else is in A&P I or Micro with me let me know. I look forward to this year in many ways.

I have applied to the program. I am so excited and nervous. Right now I am taking A&P II. After this semester all I will have left is Chem and Micro.

I just submitted my application today. I applied to UAMS last year but didn't get in. I decided to try UALR this time in hopes of getting my AAS and then bridging to my BSN as a working RN. Goodluck to us all!

I've also applied. Taking A&P 1 this semester. Already have all my other pre-reqs finished with a previous college degree. For me, it's back to school after 10 years away.

I've applied to UAMS, but I'm thinking about applying to UALR as a backup. Have you guys heard much about the program? How competitive it is?

Shan89 if you don't mind me asking, what was your gpa and teas score when you applied to uams last year?

My gpa is a 3.2 and my teas score was 63%. So I was pretty much on the lower end of being competitive. What about your gpa/teas?

I've got a 3.45 and made a 70.7 on the teas. I don't feel that I'm competitive enough either, so I'm thinking about retaking it. Ugh just don't wanna spend another $91! Hope you get into ualr this year! do they require an entrance exam.

You will probably be fine. You will definitely score higher when you retake the teas because you know what to expect now. I know what you mean about the cost of everything plus i believe the actual application fee for UAMS is $150.00. UALR just did away with its entrance test last summer, they used the EVOLVE. They accept 200 people each year, and their application fee is only $40.00. I plan to go this route now because I believe that it will fit into my life a little better at the moment (less classes to juggle, lower tuition, possibly keep my job while in school, and get to working as a RN quicker), and later I will finish to get my BSN.

I've also submitted my application to UALR LPN to RN program on last Thursday, the 22nd, as well as a back up in case UAMS doesn't work out. But I'll be praying that we all get accepted to the school of our choice. I've been lurking on allnurses for a while now, and glad to connect with others as we get ready to go back or begin our nursing journeys. :)

Hi everyone I've also applied to UALR I really hate this waiting game. March is when I was told we would know something. UALR from what I have been told is more flexible than UAMS's program does anyone know if that is true? I would like to keep working for as long as I can. I currently work from home part-time it's not really a flexible job but I am trying to hold on to it as long as I can. Good Luck everyone.

I am also interested in knowing how flexible UALR's program will be. Right now I work full time in an office. If I am accepted I will have to leave my job. I am hoping to pick up a part time job, but that all depends on the work load.
