Gateway LPN Fast Track - Page 3
Register Today!- Oct 18, '08 by AZMOMO2My guess is since this block is a test they'll see how it goes. Almost everything at Gateway has like a year and a half to two year wait for the medical programs. Seems they have a staffing issue. So having to staff two LPN programs and the regular nursing program... I wonder if they share Block 1 & Block 2 ???? Hummm something to think about I guess.
- Oct 19, '08 by MassagetoRNIf you graduate from the Fast Track program and enter into Block 3 within 6 mos, no need to take the HESI PN, but you have to take a Pharm. class prior to Block 3. This info is in the advanced placement packett at http://nursing.maricopa.edu
- Oct 20, '08 by sassiebazI see the HCC classes listed in the catalog for the LPN for January. I know this is no longer a pre-req but it looks like these are still part of the curriculum. Anyone know about this??? I guess if one hasn't taken this yet and is trying to get in for say....fall of '09 it may be a good idea to take these through RIO and get them out of the way?

i thought pharm was part of the program? they have it listed as a part of gateway's and the skills centers, is there a different pharm they are talking about? also, the way i am reading the fast track app, it seems you do have to take the hesi and score 800 and above to get in. is there anyone that has actually taken this route that could share what the procedures actually are?
thanks for the info. - Oct 20, '08 by MassagetoRNhttp://nursing.maricopa.edu/pdfdocs/...rnTransApp.pdf

- Oct 20, '08 by sassiebazQuote from knit1purl2i cannot imagine that being for the lpn fast track program, or i assume the advisor would have mentioned that to me. all she said was the net test and have a cna. im so confused now. i mean, it doesn't really matter as im nowhere close to going to school now, but would still like to know......i thought pharm was part of the program? they have it listed as a part of gateway's and the skills centers, is there a different pharm they are talking about? also, the way i am reading the fast track app, it seems you do have to take the hesi and score 800 and above to get in. is there anyone that has actually taken this route that could share what the procedures actually are?

- Oct 20, '08 by AZMOMO2In other news I went to the Fasttrack Application thing today here's the scoop....
30ish spots for days
40ish spots for evening
First priority to Gateway Partner programs ( employers who offer to pay for their programs for their LPN candidates)
After those are placed then comes the waitlist from the fall program fasttrack applications.
Then those with completed applications from this batch are entered into a database and are selected lottery style.
Letters go out end of November via mail or email advising of placement or waitlisted.
Very very important that you have completed the TWO STEP TB TEST - Oct 20, '08 by sassiebazQuote from AZMOMO2So what exactly ARE he chances? Although they tell you there is "no" waitlist, since they actually pull fall applicants first, it's a little misleading. I wonder if going to one of the skill center's would save someone time and frustration? I know someone who is reall wanting to get in by next Aug. and she doesn't have alot of time to wait. She is trying to move out of state soon as she finishes. Did the advisor tell you what the chances are or how many spots will be leftover? In other news I went to the Fasttrack Application thing today here's the scoop....
