by elizzy Jan 10Hey all!
I live in Surprise and am currently working at Barrow's/St Joe's. Alot of changes going on with "the joe" that I don't think is going to get better. But frankly, I'm tired of the long drive!
I work nightshift and after almost 5 years here I'd like to hear from some of you RN's out there how other hospitals in the Phoenix area are treating their nurses!
Was considering Banner near Sun City and Del Webb.
Any and all comments/suggestions much appreciated!

- Jan 10 by kickstuntI think a lot of hospitals are going through some tough changes. I'm not an RN at my banner facility but I can say the grass is not really that much more green here. The atmosphere is very friendly, I really like the RN's that I do interact with. However, there can be a lot of bureaucracy here... I hear that cancer treatment centers of America in Goodyear treats their employees really well and are hiring tons

I know a couple of people that stayed for less than a year there.I think a lot of hospitals are going through some tough changes. As I travel from unit to unit I can see that there are entirely different atmospheres, even on the same units but different shifts.
Most hospitals are about the same, you just have to hope that you land on a good unit on a good shift.
Good luck.
Mind you that Dignity is opening the Glendale hospital in another year if you wanted to keep within the system to keep your seniority.MsBruiser likes this. - Jan 11 by elizzyQuote from Asystole RNI agree with your statement. I spent a few years doing registry and traveled to 3 different hospitals within the system. Was definately a new dimension on each shiftHow you are treated is HIGHLY dependent upon your unit and shift.

Since I haven't lived in Phoenix very long, and am not really impressed what I've seen so far, I'm looking to not drive so far to get to work anymore. Working nights + Freeway= Very stressed out Nurse!
Thanks for the replies everyone!
