My suggestion is to go the LPN route. Much MUCH shorter wait, and you can bridge right over to the RN program. New grad LPNs are doing better finding jobs right than new grad RNs. Just my two cents :)

i know several lpns who had to wait 2 semesters to get a spot in the rn programs, because everyone seems to be trying this route.

also, where are they finding jobs at? i'm honestly curious because i have a few lpn friends who are struggling and would like to pass it on. the hospitals aren't hiring them anymore and they haven't had any luck with long term care needing them. thanks!

Some of the LPN schools around here have advanced placement programs specifically for their LPN students. As far as jobs are concerned, having your foot in the door, knowing people, and being pro-active are the best pieces of advice I can give.
