shoes for clinicals?

U.S.A. Arizona

Hello,

I will be starting block 1 at Chandler Gilbert in the fall. I am starting to purchase supplies and I was wondering if there are any restictions on the type of shoes you can wear to clinicals? I was just thinking of buying a pair of nikes or something similar and I was wondering if there were any restrictions on color or markings?

Thanks!:)

wow thanks everyone for your help.. good info to know! :monkeydance:

I tried Nurse Mates and Skechers and some of my classmates had Danskos and they all hurt our feet. I found a pair of Svens in Jacksonville, FL at a uniform shop. they were on sale for $23.00 (were $90.00) and I have used them for three blocks, lots of 12 hour shifts, and I love them! I have never owned a more comfortable shoe.

They are made by Rockers, the walking shoes.

This will probably depend on your school. Our school states that your shoes must be solid white. You can wear a tennis shoe with laces, but they must be solid white and the brand symbol must be small. Also, we are not aloud to wear clogs. I chose dansko slip ons because I thought that shoe strings would be grounds for bacteria.

i've been working at mayo clinic as an assistant and the danskos were the ONLY shoes that i have found where i can work a 12.5 hour day and still not have any pain! i highly recommend them...here's the website i got them from (after i tried them on at another store). no tax, free shipping and a great price!

I like New Balance to match the Navy Blue uniform.

I stick to New Balance too. They make 1 solid white. Once you own a pair of New Balance, you don't go back to any other sneaker.

well guys i was reading the dress code again and apparently they have revised it... it says

white socks or neutral nylons must be worn with the uniform. uniform style shoes and laces must be clean and white with low heels. no open toes, backless shoes or sandals. "white clogs with non-porous top and a back strap are permitted."

hmmm... it says this was revised starting july 2,2007..

so... i wondering what you guys think.. i maaaay be returning my other shoes and getting some crocs.. woohooo. :monkeydance:

also i wonder if this means we can get the crocs with the holes on the sides but not the top.. lol.. the "professional" ones.

im kinda excited about this i hate sneakers..
