Sedona, AZ, anyone?

U.S.A. Arizona

Hi! I was given an assignment in Sedona, AZ. Can anyone tell me what it's like to be living in Sedona? Climate, community, people, etc. Is $23/hr fair enough? I will be working in Kochina Point Health Center and Rehab. I asked my employer to transfer me to Tucson or Phoenix instead, but no reply yet. Guess I will just have to depend on your inputs as of now. Been searching apartments at rent.com and they don't post any. I can only find apartments in Tucson and Phoenix areas and they are really beautiful with complete ammenities at a low price :)

Sedona is a beautiful place! I used to go there a few times per year for weekend getaways. It is definately a tourist town. Have you gone to google.com and searched under images for Sedona? You will find some stunning photos.

Sedona is cooler than Phoenix and Tucson in the summer. I believe the highs in Sedona during the summer is usually about 90 degrees. Winter does get colder also - sometimes there will be snow.

The scenery is just breathtaking there. I think it is too small to be listed on rent.com. Sedona is small enough that I think your agency needs to help you figure out housing.

Many people visit Sedona and say they don't want to leave. There are quite a few art galleries. It is very much an artsy town. Lots of psychics that cater to the tourists also. The restaurants are fantastic. Now I want to schedule another weekend getaway there!

Good luck.

Between you and me, I'd choose Sedona over Tucson and Phoenix for a travel assignment. Man, it's beautiful up there! Check out Oak creek canyon and take a slide down Slide rock. Also, you are a lot closer to the Grand Canyon and all of the great small towns up there. It's just beautiful. The weather is perfect right now!

Sedona is beautiful!! Most beautiful place on earth (that I've been to).

A travel assigment would be awesome.

Great weather too, especially this time of the year.

And lots of great shopping up in Sedona and Jerome!

The people? Well I'll keep my thoughts to myself on that, lol. Let's just say they are a different breed up there. But it wouldn't be too bad for a travel assigment. It's one of those places that's nice to visit.

Good luck to you!

I agree with all the above. I have visited Sedona 3 times in the past on vacation. It is more breathtaking than the Grand Canyon. Slide rock is the BOMB! You will have a great time there. Bring a good camera. My Dad and Mom went there after I raved about it so much, and my Dad said that Sedona must be where God finished his masterpiece. My goal at one time in my life was to move to sedona and build a house with a big deck. Now I would settle to just get to visit again someday. There is a church built right into the rock, it is beautiful and simple at the same time. (Very peaceful)

I found rental listings in Sedona local paper , I think the Red Rock News but you can do a search. Northern AZ is amazing!!! I just came back from there and thinking about moving there. ummmm I would toss southern AZ except of the two I hear TUcson is nice. But I think you will LOVE Sedona Flagstaff and Grand Canyon!! Lucky you!

I cant tell you much about the pay rate and such, because I have not been there in a while, but, my grandfather lived there and my mom still goes there to have relaxing weekends once in a while. It is a very beautiful place.
