if it's online ,unless you just prefer it don't have to be in your home state. there is a huge thread on here so you can do a search..actually it is a sticky in the distance learning forum...

I did an online RN to BSN program through Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff (http://www.nau.edu). I never had to go to the campus at all.

I heard that you still had to go through some clinicals though, is this true?

You do clinicals in your own community (you're responsible for setting them up), but they're not "clinicals" in the ADN sense. For example, one of the assignments was to shadow a leader in your hospital and write a paper on the leadership qualities you observed. And then one big project was to assess your community's strengths and weaknesses and develop a primary prevention plan for those weaknesses. It's a lot of observing, not any actual clinical "skills" per se. And a LOT of papers to write. Know your APA format :)

I think that University of Phoenix has an online program. ASU and GCU both ofer RN-BSN programs. ASU's program is for 12 months and meets one day a week and GCU's is for 18 months and meets one day a week as well. I know nurses that have completed both programs while working full time.....
