Rio Salado Nursing

U.S.A. Arizona

I was just placed in the nursing program at Rio Salado and would love to get info from those that are going through it or have been through it. Are the classes as intense as the prereqs were at Rio? How often are clinicals and where are they at? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Hey,

Just be aware that you are pretty much on your own with Rio. I graduated over a year ago now and I know they went through major hiring so maybe it is better. I think everyone has complaints about every program ---you just have to get through it. I never heard anyone say that a program prepared them for the real world of nursing. You will do fine with Rio if you have time to study and have some medical experience or have contacts in the field to answer your questions. I was prepared for the boards, passed with 75 questions however I was not prepared for the real world of nursing--which only comes with time! Best of Luck--You will do great I'm sure.

Congratulations on getting into nursing school! I seem to recall from info here on the board that Rio's clinicals are condensed and every other weekend. Have you searched the AZ forum for all the info you can find about Rio Salado? That's what I would do.
