For all of us waiting for spring placement for MCCCD, it starts today!

Maybe we can use this thread to announce when we got in (if we get in, that is) and make some early connections. Good luck, everyone!!!

What does that mean? Will you find out today, or will they go out in the mail today?

Good Luck!

Actually, the schools have a special web page where students that are on the waiting list can check their status here. If you have already turned in an application, you can log in using your social security number.

Surprisingly, I just found out that I got accepted!!!:balloons:

Any future classmates out there???

Congratulations to both of you! I'm bitter...didn't get in. Did you apply during spring application week or before? I know there were more on the "waitlist" than usual.

Again, CONGRATS!

I applied in the middle of June; I was surprised to hear back so soon. Good luck for everyone out there!

My application was complete in May, although provisional before that. Remember.....this is just the first round. We have 10 days to accept, defer or drop out. So expect to see some additional placements around mid October. Then as folks drop, which they will, there will be a few more. I am speaking about all of the programs, not just SCC. Quite honestly, I fully expected my wait to be a least one year before I got placed, given the amount of folks waiting in line, so don't be too discouraged!

I applied in April, right after spring application week (issues getting my fingerprint card). I know....I'm looking on the bright side....a little more time to save a little more money before committing to a full-time program.

You guys will have to let me know what you think of the program.

I got into the weekend program at Glendale. Recently left another "newer" program just this semester that I didn't like. Seems it was weighed down by many, many problems that included extremely bad instructor attitudes at the top of the list and miscommunication between faculty. At any rate I have heard the best things about Glendale and their pass rates. Also heard they had the market cornered for awesome instructors. My fingers are crossed. Nursing school is hard enough w/out staff making it even harder. I am wondering if anyone else has started their weekend program since they changed the program and if they have a current book list. Hoping to get a head start on purchasing them since I didn't exactly get tuition refunded from my last school. Also want to see if I already have any from this past semester that are the same. -Thanks

i am actually a bit upset by this. i applied in the summer. I obviously did not make it in the fall.. and now i am not in the spring... for now.. I talked to the nursing advisor.. and she said there is too many students and not enough teachers... i really wished i got in... i cant keep waiting like this.. =/ i applied for all five spots for the traditional program...hmmm

Hey, to give you guys hope....many slots open up from now until school begins. We had people receiving notice of acceptance the day before!!! Just be prepared, you might get the shock of your life. Plan like you might get in because you may have little notice to buy your books, pay tuition, etc.

All hope is not lost! Congrats to those who got in!!!:jester:
