I will be graduating in May 2018 with my BSN. I currently live in California, but will be relocating to Arizona. I am going to get my licensure by examination for AZ.
I was wondering if anyone had any tips about new grad programs. I am applying to the Mayo Clinic next month.
From what I understand, most places only look at your applications if you have your license already or a test date.
Will I have any difficulty being an out-of-state candidate?
Also, how hard is it to obtain a new grad job? California is very competitive.
If you're looking in the Phx metro area, Banner takes apps 60 days before you graduate and/or test, so applying before graduation is perfectly acceptable. The other major systems are HonorHealth and Dignity. Good luck!
AZ is not nearly as competitive as CA in terms of new grads finding jobs. Most of the people I graduated with either had jobs before graduating or shortly thereafter. If you're not picky, it won't be hard. Good luck!
Banner has a new grad program that most from my graduating class were hired into. The job listings for this program are usually listed under the staffing services department. I have also seen some new grad openings at specific facilities.
